Gregory & Trudi Graziano
During the 1970’s Greg began working with his father in their Redwood Valley vineyards and attended UC Davis to study viticulture and enology. He also spent two years as a cellar worker for the Cresta Blanca Winery of which his family was a part owner.
In 1976, Greg became a founding partner and the winemaker for Milano Winery in Hopland, California. In 1986, he became the winemaker for the esteemed La Crema Winery in Sonoma County. At La Crema, Greg quickly became known for his bold and complex styling which put La Crema into the forefront as one of the top Chardonnay and Pinot Noir producers in the industry. These wines were featured at the White House and at the Moscow Summit.
In 1988, Greg and his wife Trudi started their own winery, the Graziano Family of Wines. The first two brands were established; Saint Gregory (producing Burgundian-styled wines) and Monte Volpe (specializing in Italian grape varieties from Central and Southern Italty). During the start-up period, Greg also served as a winemaker for Hidden Cellars, where he created the luxurious Sauvignon Blanc “Alchemy”.
In 1990, he became consulting winemaker for the Codera Wine Group and helped reestablish the legendary Martin Ray Winery. In 1994, Greg left his position as a winemaker for Hidden Cellars to devote more time to his own brands and his consulting clients. At the start of the 1995 vintage, Greg became the consulting winemaker for a small, high-quality organic grape and wine producer in Mendocino County, Yorkville Cellars.
In the spring of 1997, he added the Enotria label to the Graziano Family of Wines. The Enotria brand features grape varieties native to the Italian Piedmonte region. In the fall of 1998, Greg moved his winery and crushing facility from Ukiah to the picturesque historic Fetzer Estate in Redwood Valley.
In the spring of 1999, Greg and Trudi opened their first tasting room in the quaint town of Hopland. His wine showroom features all the Graziano Family of Wines as well as wine accessories and special events.
In the fall of 2001, Greg produced the first wines produced under the Graziano label. This brand specializes in Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc from old hillside vineyards located throughout Mendocino County.
Greg and Trudi reside in Ukiah with their two daughters Alexandra and Isabella.
